Cassandra is an anaesthetist in many private hospitals and day surgeries in Melbourne as well as working part time as a Visiting Medical Officer in the public system at the Monash Medical Centre. She attained her Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2009 after finishing her training in the Monash Anaesthetic Training Scheme.

Cassandra is a University of Queensland Medical School graduate, who worked in Far North Queensland as a junior doctor and Anaesthetic registrar.

Cassandra's interests include: Anaesthetics for a surgery and difficult airway management. Regional and local anaesthesia techniques for pain relief, anaesthesia for orthopaedic procedures, teaching of junior anaesthetic registrars.

She lives with her young family in the south east corridor of Melbourne.

Cassandra is a motivated, organized, efficient and friendly anaesthetist who is suited to working as part of a team.

Dr Yogi Bhatt has dual training in anaesthesia, achieving his MD Anaesthesiology from Gujarat University in India in 2005 and his Fellowship with ANZCA (FANZCA) in Australia, 2010.

His special interest is in resuscitation and care of critically ill patients. His current practice involves surgery in Obstetric and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Dental, Endoscopy, General Surgery, Laparascopic surgery for obesity and all emergency surgeries.

He believes that administration of anaesthesia is an art and is a very precise balance between experience, knowledge, instincts and vigilance. He promises fast and safe anaesthesia with good post operative pain management and followup.

Dr Isaac Cheung is a Monash University graduate who completed his specialist anaesthetic training at Southern Health, Royal Women’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital with fellowships at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Dandenong District Hospital. Areas of interest include ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia and obstetric anaesthesia, as well as anaesthesia for general surgery (gynaecological, orthopaedic, colorectal) and day surgery (endoscopy, eye surgery). He uses the latest anaesthetic techniques to ensure optimal safety and minimal side effects from your procedure.

He currently teaches registrars as part of his position as a visiting specialist at Southern Health.

In his spare time, Dr Cheung enjoys spending time with his wife and family. He is a keen badminton player and snowboarder.

Dr Matthew Coghlan received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Melbourne University and completed his anaesthetic training at St Vincent’s Hospital. He completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic anaesthesia at Monash Medical Centre. Matthew has also received a post-graduate Diploma in Clinical Echocardiography from Melbourne University. His research on the antibacterial activity of local anaesthetics used in epidural infusions was published in the Journal of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.

Matthew’s special interests include the use of peri-operative ultrasound and the anaesthetic management of vascular, urological, paediatric, thoracic, obstetric and ENT surgery.

Matthew is a member of the Australia and New Zealand college of Anaesthetists and the Australian Society of Anaesthetists.

Dr Jarvis graduated from Medicine with Honours at the University of Western Australia in 2001. She also has a Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Education. Shanon's early medical years were at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth, where she was awarded the Schneider Prize forcare and compassion. She has trained in anaesthesia with the Western Australian and Monash Anaesthetic Training Programmes.

Shanon has two appointments at Monash Medical Centre. She is a consultant Anaesthetist and a Director of Clinical Training for junior medical staff. She has a special interest in medical education. Shanon participates in ongoing professional development with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

Dr Jarvis lives in Ashburton with her husband and children. She is a passionate War-on-Waste advocate and has interests in nature, food, music, travel and gardening.

Dr Michael Keane is a specialist at Monash Health and anaesthetizes for a range of surgical specialties. He is accredited at a number of hospitals including the Epworth group of hospitals, The Valley and South Eastern Private hospitals, Knox Private and St John of God.

He is an active researcher and holds positions as Adjunct Associate Professor at Swinburne University and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. His work has appeared in medical journals including The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, The Mayo Clinic Proceedings, The Medical Journal of Australia, Pain, Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and The American Journal of Bioethics, The British Journal of Anaesthesia, Anaesthesia and Analgesia, Chest and Trends in Anaesthesis and Critical Care.

His areas of interest include the management of acute post-operative pain and nausea as well as safety systems and human factors engineering. Dr Keane runs a charity scheme called Pay It Forward Anaesthesia, In this scheme, out-of-pocket fees (or gaps) are paid to charity.

Dr Eileen Lee works in the fields of paediatrics, dentals, ophthalmology, general surgery, endoscopy, special needs and day surgery. Currently she is working as a VMO at Royal Victorian Eye and Ear hospital as well as practicing at a variety of private hospitals in Melbourne and surrounding areas.

Dr Lee is a graduate of Melbourne University and did her Anaesthetic training in New Zealand. She has also practiced in Singapore General Hospital, Aberdeen royal Infirmary, Scotland and Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong.

Dr Lee has a special interest in working with patients to alleviate their anxiety and aims to communicate with patients before the surgery in order to put to rest any concerns that may arise.

Dr Slava Poel is an Australian trained anaesthetist with a fellowship from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. After graduating from Monash University he completed his specialist training through Southern Health where he worked in different areas of the network. Since his training finished he has worked as a staff specialist at Peninsula Health and currently holds VMO appointments at Southern Health and Cabrini Health. He is currently completing a Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound and Pain Medicine.

His professional goal is to provide a high quality evidence based service to both patients and surgeons. He cares about the overall patient experience and approaches his work with empathy and professionalism.

Dr Mo Rahmati completed his undergraduate medical training with Honours and went on to continue his postgraduate anaesthetic training principally at Monash Medical Centre with rotations to Royal Children’s Hospital and Royal Women’s Hospital. He concluded his training by undertaking a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia at Monash Medical Centre. He has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Ultrasound through the University of Melbourne in addition to being a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.

His areas of interest include cardiothoracic anaesthesia, anaesthesia for vascular, ENT, maxillofacial, ophthalmology, plastic and reconstructive, orthopaedics and colorectal surgery. He also has interests in peri-operative application of ultrasound techniques, in particular echocardiography.

Outside of the medical profession Mo enjoys cycling, soccer and spending time with his young family.

Dr Stevenson graduated from medical school in 2000 and commenced her anaesthesia training at the Imperial School of Anaesthesia, in Northwest London in 2003. She completed her anaesthesia training in Melbourne, following rotations at The Austin and Northern hospitals and Southern Health. Her Fellowship year was divided between the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and Monash Medical Centre where she was able to concentrate on her special interest, Paediatric Anaesthesia.

After becoming a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2010, Dr Stevenson completed a further fellowship year at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

Dr Stevenson’s current practice comprises a combination of public and private practice. She is an honorary Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne as well as holding Specialist Anaesthetist appointments at the Royal Dental Hospital and Werribee Mercy Hospital.

Her private practice includes a mix of adult and paediatric anaesthesia for various surgical specialities including General Surgery, Eye surgery, Obstetric and Gynaecological surgery and Ear, Nose and Throat surgery.

Dr Stevenson participates in the ANZCA Continuing Professional Development Program and is a member of the Australian Medical Association and Australian Society of Anaesthetists.

Dr Micheal Wilson obtained his FANZCA in 1992 and has since then had wide experience in a variety of anaesthetic fields inlcluding Thoracic, Neuro and Vascular surgery. More recently he has focused on General Surgery, ENT, Oral Surgery, Orthopaedics and Obstetrics. He is happy working with children down to six months old. He is a VMO at Dandenong Hospital and is accredited at numerous private hospitals, including Epworth, Cabrini, Freemasons, Melbourne Private, Pensinsula Private, Knox, The Valley and South Eastern Private Hospital. He is on the after-hours roster for The Valley and SEPH.

His anaesthetic interests include airway management and peri-operative pain control. He is currently on the Medical Advisory Committee for The Valley Private Hospital. He also has an interest in education, and has organized numerous educational meetings for Anaesthetists in conjuction with The Valley and SEPH.

Prior to specializing in Anaesthesia, Dr Wilson served in the Royal Australian Navy as a Medical Officer. He is still serving in the RAN Reserve, and has had numerous deployments with the ADF, including serving for three months with the USN during the first Gulf War, deployments to East Timor,peace keeping missions to Bougainville and the Solomons, and humanitarian aid following the earthquake/tsunami at Banda Aceh.

Michael is married with four children. His interests include Surf Life Saving, reading, sailing and canoeing. He has represented Australia in white water canoeing and still competes in Masters competitions in marathon and sprint in K1 and K2.

Dr Janette Wright graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1996 then spent the next nine years in England training in Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesia and intensive Care. She obtained a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from Liverpool university whilst in England and used this knowledge to work on two occasions in Africa. She was awarded her Fellowship in Anaesthesia from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2005.

Jannette moved back to Melbourne in 2006 and completed her Australian anaesthetic training in a variety of hospitals, finishing her training at Royal Melbourne Hospital where she stayed on as a Consultant Anaesthetist from 2011. She anaesthetises for all surgical specialties apart from cardiothoracic and paediatric surgery.

Janette has special interests in trauma medicine, peri-operative medicine (which she recently completed a Masters in through Monash University) and the welfare of anaesthetists. She is an instructor on Advanced Life Support courses as well as being a convenor for the CRASH course which is a return to work simulation course for critical care doctors. She is also a Supervisor of Training for anaesthetic registrars at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her two children, walking her dog, pilates, swimming and travelling.
